Cold Ash Storm vs Cold Ash Thunder
Berks & Bucks County Cup

What a great game of football by both sides & the score line does not truly reflect the match.

Thunder came out & caught Storm still asleep scoring very quickly and moving the ball well, creating openings on goal.
Storm needed to react and did this well with some very good team goals, some great running & movement and some of our passing & combinations were outstanding taking control of the game and securing victory.

Both teams continued to pass the ball well creating opportunities and keeping everyone on their toes, which meant an exciting & entertaining watch for all.

Thunder 1-9 Storm

MOTM was another hard decision as Storm were fantastic today, but today TOM SMITH got a deserved MOTM accolade for his superb running & passing!

Deservedly In The Next Round Of The B&B Cup, Well Done Storm!

Cup match report...Thunder!

This was always going to be a Tough game for the boys but despite the opposition thunder got off to a great start scoring in the first two minutes. In his Debut game for thunder and debut goal scorer Dylan put thunder in an early lead.

An injury before half time meant our keeper was substituted for Alfie R who in his first game made a great addition to the team and stepped in for the injured Josh with no question, making some awesome saves in difficult circumstances.

Man of the match was close fought in my mind as again every player gave their all, but captain today Riley took the accolade as he has consistently been strong in this and previous games, encouraging his team today and showing positivity to others.

As the match progressed the boys continued to play some great football. Which shows great promise for future games, after further development and training.

Final score 1-8

Thunder match report...

Dispite a rocky first 5 minutes which saw us go 1 goal down, the boys didn’t let that phase them and they worked those passes we have been developing at training to work the ball in their favour.

With four separate goal scorers for thunder the first came from Riley P and was only ever going in after a rocket shot. The next came soon after securing us the lead in the first half from Dan A who was on fire the whole game!

Great to finally hear the boys communicating for the whole game and working together, coordinated by Josh H at the back his direction and foresight were evident in today’s game.

Second half saw Alfie H give his team some breathing space with a finish from his left foot (which he can’t kick with) followed up by Aaron who then sealed the deal to make it 4.

Man of the match, went to Ben C who has been on the coaches radar for some weeks as a player who has a high work rate and good consistency in his game play.

Great win and good to see the smiles back on the boys faces!

Team Storm Match Report.....

Today saw Storm take on Thunder in the first of the Cold Ash Clashes set to take place, and it didn’t disappoint.

A thrilling start to the game which saw both sides creating chances, only to find both GK in good form performing some great saves.

Storm eventually took control and moved the very well with some great passing, playing for each other and working extremely well as a team.
Storms passing was some of the best I have seen this season, and was simply breathtaking at times. Glad to see that all that we are working on in training is paying off.

Myself & Dan Greenham gave MOTM to all the players this week as the team play & passing from all was fantastic.

Special mention to Luca G for his continuous high work rate and Tom S for making the right decisions and getting his first goals of the season. Well Done Boys!

Thunder 0-6 Storm

Top of the League & Looking Strong!
